Dr. Glenn Slater
Head Administrator
A native of Dallas, Dr. Glenn Slater has over 40 years of experience in Christian education, first serving as a history teacher and later Headmaster of Greenville Christian School in Greenville, Texas. After 21 years, Dr. Slater and his family faithfully followed God's calling to serve for 13 years as the Head Administrator of Maryville Christian School in Maryville, Tennessee. In 2015, Dr. Slater returned to Texas to assume his current position as Head Administrator here at Covenant.
Dr. Slater holds three degrees from Texas A&M University - Commerce: a bachelor's degree in history and political science, a masters degree in history, and a masters degree in Educational Administration. In addition, he holds a doctorate degree in history from the University of Tennessee.
During his career, Dr. Slater has also taught history at six separate universities. He holds a Lifetime Certification in teaching and in administration with the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI).
Asked about his role at Covenant, Dr. Slater stated, "Being able to serve God at CCS at this point in my career is an immense blessing as I continue to grow in my walk with Christ. What a joy it is to serve our Lord and these great kids at Covenant!"
Dathan Petruccio
Secondary Principal
Mr. Petruccio began his career as Secondary Principal at CCS in 2011. He also teaches 11th grade Bible (Theology) and has coached soccer at CCS. Mr. Petruccio was born in Ft. Worth, Texas but moved to Ohio when he was seven. After high school, he went to college in Indiana and then lived there for three years working in Chicago before coming back to Texas.
Mr. Petruccio has received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies Secondary Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. He has also received a Master of Arts degree in Theology and Church History from Wheaton College as well as received a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from California Baptist University.
Mr. Petruccio is married and has three beautiful children. He enjoys playing soccer, tennis, or any other sport and attending any activities his children are doing. When possible, he also enjoys camping and getting out into God's creation.
What he likes most about working at CCS: "God called me into Christian Education while in college, and I have never regretted it. It is a blessing to work with Christian teachers and staff, but most importantly it is amazing to see how God works in the lives of our students both while they are here at Covenant, and after they graduate."
Sara Cummins
Elementary Principal
Mrs. Cummins became the Elementary Principal at CCS in August of 2014. She grew up in Friendswood, TX and Montgomery TX. She attended Sam Houston State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts and Masters in Education. Mrs. Cummins is married and has two beautiful daughters that attend CCS, Chloe, and Cailyn. She loves to read and is very active in her church, West Conroe Baptist.
What Mrs. Cummins likes best about working at CCS: "I enjoy getting to see students come to know the Lord and watching their faith grow, as well as getting to work with the most wonderful people who have a heart for the Lord. Seeing our students’ “childlike faith” is a joy I cannot fully express in words. God continues to bless CCS and it is a privilege to see His word alive and active."
